Calcedeaver Elementary Library Media CenterThe media center supports the Alabama State Course of Study, the basis of our curriculum program, and the Information Literacy Skills published by the American Association of School Librarians and the American Library Association. We are currently in the process of changing reading programs from Reading Counts to Accelerated Reader. Any volunteers that would like to come and assist with this tremendous task, please contact Mrs. Snow at 221-1091.Mission StatementThe mission of Calcedeaver Elementary Media Center is to provide an open environment conducive to helping individuals become literate in information acquisition as well as life long readers. The program will provide educational and technological opportunities to students, faculty, staff, and community to facilitate their needs and abilities. The Calcedeaver Elementary Library Media Center uses Athena as its automated management system. We provide open access for all students. Books are checked out for one (1) week. No books are checked out to students who have overdue books. No fines are charged for overdue books; however, students must pay to replace lost or damaged books. Please Visit the Library Media Center
